As the body ages, basic metabolic processes slow down, and the synthesis of collagen and elastin fibers decreases. As a result, the skin loses its attractive appearance, becomes dull and flaccid, prone to wrinkle formation and other aesthetic imperfections.[1] In the fight against age-related changes and skin defects, chemical peels and laser resurfacing are actively used, which destroy the upper layers of the skin.[2,3]
Using COLLOST® in combination with device-based techniques: enhances overall results, accelerates skin recovery after traumatic procedures, and helps achieve more pronounced and stable effects.
COLLOST® can be used both during preparation for device-based procedures and after them during the rehabilitation period for rapid epidermal restoration through activation of the skin’s own collagen fiber production.[4,5]

The main request when consulting a cosmetologist is beautiful, youthful facial and body skin. Smooth skin surface, even tone, and absence of wrinkles—this is what specialists and their patients strive for.[4]
First and foremost, skin quality at the cellular level is determined by the condition of the dermis.[4] This is dense irregular connective tissue, the bulk of which consists of collagen fibers. To a lesser extent, it comprises elastic and argyrophilic fibers.[6]
Collagen is represented by a heterogeneous group of fibrillar proteins that provide turgor and tone, the skin’s ability to restore its shape after various deformations resulting from active facial expressions or sleep.[4,7] Structural proteins also play an important role in connective tissue regeneration after injuries, burns, and other damage. They ensure its healing capacity.[4,8]
In addition to maintaining tissue structure, collagen fibers serve as support for fibroblasts, create necessary conditions for their directed migration, and maintain the functional activity of dermal cells.[4,7] It’s worth noting that fibroblasts themselves synthesize collagen and other elements of the extracellular matrix, such as elastin and glycosaminoglycans.[4,6,7] Thus, they create conditions for maintaining not only skin quality but also their own functioning.[4]
Natural aging of the body leads to decreased fibroblast activity. As a result, the skin undergoes involutive changes.[1] To activate them, various cosmetic rejuvenation procedures are used. The most popular among them are chemical peels and device-based techniques.[2,3] In some cases, surgical plasty is employed. Despite the effectiveness of these techniques, achieving visible effects after procedures requires a certain recovery time for natural skin quality restoration.[2,3,4] To accelerate the rehabilitation process, collagen injections are used, which serve as a directed matrix for tissue regeneration.[5,9]
COLLOST® line preparations are developed based on natural native bovine type I collagen.[5,9] Human dermal collagen fibers are also predominantly represented by type I collagen.[6] This ensures high biocompatibility and minimizes the risk of rejection and adverse reactions.[10]
Primarily, collagen injections are used within anti-aging skin therapy.[9,11] In addition to procedures aimed at correcting signs of aging, COLLOST® collagen preparations have proven excellent for preparing and rehabilitating skin after aggressive procedures such as peels, laser resurfacing, and radiofrequency microneedle lifting.[4,12]
The native collagen contained in COLLOST® preparations creates optimal conditions for dermal regeneration and restructuring:[4,5,13]
Collagen injections when working with scar tissue create an environment for fibroblast migration into damaged structures, which is particularly relevant for correcting atrophic scars—stretch marks and post-acne scars. In these pathological formations, the dermis is virtually absent; consequently, there are no conditions for full fibroblast functioning and tissue restoration.[4,14,15]
COLLOST® is available in the form of micronized powder COLLOST® micro and in gel form COLLOST® gel 7% and 15%. COLLOST® can be injected into the upper and lower eyelids up to the lash line.
COLLOST® micro is developed based on patented PoliONICol and MICRONONIC technologies:[9,11]
PoliONICol® enhances collagen’s hydrating properties, retaining more water in tissues. This promotes skin hydration and healthy radiance.[9,11]
MICRONONIC® – collagen microstructuring technology allows forming material consisting of intertwining thread-like biomimetic particles. Capillary spaces between microfibers attract and retain water, facilitate cell penetration into the material’s thickness. The fibrous structure of microparticles serves as both biological and mechanical activator of the regeneration process, stimulating neocollagenesis.[9,11]
Modern cosmetic procedures for device-based collagen stimulation are combined with native collagen injections.[4,12] This methodology is based on the fact that after aggressive device-based procedures (ablative laser resurfacing, RF lifting), active healing and tissue renewal processes involving immunocompetent cells occur in the dermis for 3-4 weeks.[2,3,4] Complete restoration with subsiding aseptic inflammation occurs by the end of the first month after the procedure.[2,3] To reduce the risk of unwanted inflammatory reactions, collagen-based preparations are introduced.[4] Typically, injections are applied 3-4 weeks after device-based treatment.[4]
The course of collagen therapy with COLLOST® preparations depends on the initial condition and severity of the problem.[4,13] Thus, correction of scar deformations, particularly post-acne scars, is a complex case requiring a comprehensive approach and often long-term treatment.[4,14,15] An effective way to solve this problem is the combined use of laser ablation and microneedle radiofrequency lifting with COLLOST® collagen therapy.[4] The most pronounced result in treating atrophic scars is observed in young patients using COLLOST® gel 15%.[4,15]
Combined collagen therapy techniques with other cosmetic procedures enhance the overall effect[12,14,15]:
In combination with plasma therapy (PRP), tissue regeneration is enhanced, the recovery process is accelerated through the patient’s own plasma. Collagen therapy is possible both as a combined procedure and as preparation for plasma therapy.[12]
Mesotherapy or biorevitalization is typically used before or between COLLOST® injections, for example, for skin hydration or nourishment. Mesopreparations are selected individually according to the existing problem.[16]
Device-based techniques such as laser, RF lifting, chemical peels are performed before the collagen therapy course or 3-4 weeks after it. This increases the effectiveness of tissue restoration.[2,3,4]
Thus, COLLOST® collagen preparation injections can be used for preparation and rehabilitation after aggressive cosmetic procedures.[4,12]
Chemical peels and laser resurfacing are among the most effective cosmetic procedures.[2,3] However, deep intervention aimed at improving skin condition inevitably causes significant damage to the upper layers of the epidermis and dermis.[2] The laser beam penetrates to a depth of 1.5 mm, and the total area of the treatment zone, when performing, for example, facial restoration, can range from 10 to 50%.[2]
After procedures, a rehabilitation period begins when the primary task is to avoid any complications. During this time, for the fastest improvement of facial and body skin, it’s important to avoid physical exertion, sun exposure, visiting tanning salons, saunas, consuming alcoholic beverages, strictly following specialists’ recommendations in everything.[2,3]
For rapid skin recovery and prevention of scarring, COLLOST® native collagen injections are used.[4,14] They accelerate dermal regeneration and promote stabilization of fibroblast functional activity.[4,5] Additionally, collagen therapy promotes natural rejuvenation, improvement of microcirculation and skin micro-relief, restoration of its natural tone.[17]
Independent skin recovery after resurfacing and peels proceeds slowly.[2,3] After all, the natural barrier capable of protecting against harmful environmental factors is removed: ultraviolet rays, bacteria, etc. To prevent complications, it’s necessary to use skin recovery products.[2,3]
One of the most effective products for rapid skin improvement is COLLOST® gel.[9,13] Its efficacy and safety of application have been proven in a number of clinical trials, as well as based on ultrasound skin diagnostics upon completion of collagen therapy sessions.[10,19]
The structure of native type I collagen is maximally similar to human collagen.[9] Its injections provide excellent results, quickly restoring the cellular environment characteristic of young skin.[5] COLLOST® fills scars, defects, damaged areas, forming complete tissue.[9,13,14] Skin improvement is noticeable after the first procedures.[9,20]
We receive many questions about how facial and body skin improvement occurs after procedures when COLLOST® gel is used during the rehabilitation period. To avoid being unsubstantiated, we present some reviews from those who underwent comprehensive skin recovery.
Olga, 42 years old. «We agreed with the doctor that after resurfacing, facial skin recovery would proceed using COLLOST® gel. I was initially doubtful, even had ideas to refuse. I simply didn’t imagine how much resurfacing damages the upper skin layer. After the collagen course, skin condition improvement is immediately noticeable; what resurfacing didn’t achieve, the gel evened out, facial color became uniform. From my own experience, I can definitely say I haven’t encountered a better skin recovery product.»
Evgenia, 27 years old. «I did a complex treatment for stretch marks. First, they performed resurfacing, but it didn’t remove all stretch marks; many were still visible. But collagen helped very well. Skin improvement became evident. Even the largest stretch marks first turned pink, then disappeared completely. The cosmetologist told me that today collagen is the best product; with its help, facial and body skin improvement proceeds quickly and safely. I confirm, it really works. I was able to verify this personally.»
